Rick M. Meade, P.E. is an Executive Officer for the Engineering & Construction Department at the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
Mr. Meade holds undergraduate degrees in Civil Engineering and English and a Master of Science Degree from Stanford University in Engineering and Construction Management. He is a Registered Civil Engineer in California and Massachusetts.
As Executive Officer at Metro, Mr. Meade is responsible for a number of large transit projects including Gold Line Extension and Expo Phase 2 Design-Build projects. These projects are currently under construction and have a total value of just under $2.5 billion dollars. In addition, Mr. Meade oversees the Metro Engineering & Construction Department’s transition of new projects from Strategic Planning to Design and Construction Phases. This includes development of the Crenshaw/LAX - Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Automated People Mover alignment for connecting with Metro Light Rail near LAX.
Mr. Meade was formerly a Vice President with HNTB Corporation, holding positions as Department Head for Program and Construction Management, and was a Design Manager on the $900M I-405 Sepulveda Pass Design-Build Project in Los Angeles.
Prior to that, he held positions at the Massachusetts Port Authority as Program Manager for Engineering and Construction at Logan International Airport and was an Associate Vice President for AECOM working on major Port and Aviation projects in Los Angeles and San Diego.
